Lavender Baby Compress To Reduce Baby Fever

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of distilled water

- 2 drops of lavender essential oil

- 2 drops of Roman chamomile essential oil

- 2 teaspoons sea salt

- A clean cotton cloth or towel, large enough to cover the baby’s neck and chest

Instructions:

  1. Bring the distilled water to a boil in a pot.

  2. Add the sea salt to the boiling water, stirring until completely dissolved.

  3. Remove from heat and let cool for 2-3 minutes before adding the essential oils.

  4. Add lavender and Roman chamomile essential oils to the cooled salt water; stir gently.

  5. Place the clean cloth or towel in the solution, making sure it is fully submerged.

  6. Remove from the solution and gently squeeze out excess liquid.

  7. Apply the warm compress to baby’s neck and chest area for 10-15 minutes, taking care not to burn the baby.

  8. When done, remove the compress and discard.

  9. Repeat as necessary until fever reduces.

Note: Please consult your pediatrician before using this compress. This is only a suggested recipe and should not replace the advice of a medical professional. Additionally, some individuals may experience skin irritation due to essential oils; ensure that baby has no known allergies or sensitivity to essential oils before use. If any redness, rash, or other skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult your pediatrician immediately. Use caution when applying the compress to avoid burns. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Store essential oils away from direct sunlight in a cool, dark place. Discard any remaining solution after use; do not ingest.
